Report footwear wanted the ultimate modernist background for their new catalog shoot. Being who we are we jumped in with all appendages :). Who’d a thunk it that some designers an engineer, carpenters and painters would ever cook up such a diabolically cool photo set. Take some slabs of eps foam shape them into compound surfaces, gel coat ‘em, skin them, prep them, bondo them, bondo them some more, add laminate, hog them out and put in lights and acrylic surfaces crate it up and ship coast to coast. Add sexy shoes and some hot Russian models and you get some incredible photography. Mad props to the crew for making dreams come true.

the best parties in town

This party featured JB Classics Lab and sure enough, they came correct with a new spring release of kicks. If you were smart enough then you left with a box or two under your arm. Happy Birthday Mdot! We’d also like to give a shout out to Andrea Heimer who will be displaying her artwork at Utility Inc. through the month of May. It was another epic ping pong battle and Corin remains undefeated…walking away with the cash (and the girls).

Those kids and their spraypaint…

For the past several weeks, we at D.O.E. have been working on the awards book for the annual Seattle Show. I won’t spoil too much about the insides of this book but one of the bells and whistles is the canvas cover. Some buddies over at Arscentia were able to laminate canvas to our press sheets to make one spiffy cover. After they were delivered, we went to town hand stenciling each and every one. 800 sheets for 1600 books. Our backs hurt, our fingers hurt, our knees hurt, but it was a pretty swell project. Photos ahoy!
