Celebrate Good Times, Come On. 3/3.

Wrapping up this triple threat of celebratin’ was Mr. Nick Seliga’s 10 year anniversary BBQ celebration. 10 years? That’s forever in dog years! Even in human years, that’s a damn long time. And accordingly, we celebrated.

The table that they set up in the warehouse ALMOST won the Guinness Book of World Records “Longest table set up for the use of a company BBQ”. It came in at an astonishing 4,897 feet long. It was just 383 feet short of a mile, which is the current record held by our neighbors at the Taco Shop Muffler Place. Maybe next time, guys.

In commemoration of Nick’s 10 years with Utility, everyone brought in a little memento from the years past, along with a “Certificate of Recognition”, and they were all adhered to a post-it board. I can’t say for certain, since I’ve only been here a few months, but I’d guess that there were some funny and touching keepsakes on that board. Nick may have even gone home, nostalgic for the years past, and wept a little. My how we’ve all grown in the last decade.

But again, I can’t say for certain.

Nick thinking, “Hey, I remember that.”

No company BBQ would be complete without….a BBQ. And more importantly, an in-your-face GRILLE-MASTA! Grillin’ it, straight killin’ it, keepin’ it hot and never ever chillin’ it.

Da Grille-Masta gettin’ NASTY!

“Uh, hey wait guys, what’s up with this Montreal rub?” The look on Styk’s face should concern you. The look on Skip’s face should make you RUN FOR THE HILLS.

Excuse me waitor, there are FLIES in my seasoning.

That makes me want to barf. I wonder how many burgers came with an extra shot of protein that day.

It’s too bad that I’m ending what should have been a feel-good post with a picture of dead flies in a bottle of seasoning. But that’s the way she goes.

Either way, everyone had an awesome time hanging out, eating burgers, and relaxing in the warehouse. Here’s to 10 more years, Nick!

Thanks to all those who had a hand in putting together the BBQ, it was delicious!

Greg, it should be noted that the look on Styk’s face was not one of “…what’s up with the Montreal rub…” but of “Wait a minute, didn’t I throw this away the other week when I noticed all of the flies in there?”

Um no. Actually he may have considered for a brief moment to toss it, but instead PUT IT BACK ON THE SHELF.

Styk doesn’t know it yet, but he has a fly martini on the way.
