Podcast Power!
Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

It’s impossible to avoid the hype surrounding “new media” these days. The writers strike, the forecasted death of the newspaper, the general RIAA freakout, is all coming from the fact that the internet is becoming the preferred method to deliver content. And one of the sweetest ways to get that content is through podcasts. I heard about podcasts a long time ago and dabbled a little bit, but sort of forgot about them, until recently. It’s really awesome being able to work and learn things about, well anything. Lately I’ve been really into the 60 Minutes podcast which is just an audio version of their normal television broadcast (this is awesome for me since I don’t have a TV). It’s an awesome way to get news, but it’s also a great way to just absorb information. There are countless software podcasts that actually show you in video how to accomplish different effects or techniques in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and even After Effects.
Here’s a few links to some of my current favorites. 60 Minutes, This Week in Tech, This Week in Photography, KEXP Song of the Day, Vintage Tooncast, Creative Cow After Effects tutorials.
What’s everyone else listening to?
